Wedding Shoes – a personality thing

“There is an element of seduction in shoes that doesn’t exist for men.
A woman can be sexy, charming, witty or shy with her shoes.”
– Christian Louboutin

DIY navy blue shoes, adding personality

So what do your dream wedding shoes say about you?

When it comes one’s wedding shoes, whether they’re heels, flats, boots or platforms;  the shoes you wear for your wedding say a lot about your hopes and expectations for the future.

Whether you want to be sexy, taller, flirty, practical, colourful or feminine, a fabulous wedding shoe can add a dash of personality without overpowering the whole show.

Flats
  • ballet slippers are sweet and innocent
  • lace ups are practical and proper or maybe a little geek chic
  • velvet or felt shoes are considered to be quite arty.
Heels
  • stilettos are always sexy
  • the more stable but fashionable wedge is less likely to get stuck in the grass
  • feminine high heels are classic
  • kitten heels are sweet
  • comfortably taller platforms or practical mid heels are smart options.
Style
Then there’s the era your dress comes from to consider, and finding the appropriate shoes to match.
Colour
Will you have the same colour as your dress, or will you dare to choose a colour to contrast – either to match the colour scheme of the wedding or for another special reason?
Inspiration
There’s even a very cool wedding style inspiration blog called Green Wedding Shoes!
Offbeat Bride takes  wedding shoes very ‘seriously’- there’s a whole archive of shoe articles,  from glitter to plastic hearts and polka dots.
Confession
I wore high heels with gold snakeskin leather straps. I don’t really want to think about what that says about me!
